Carol sits on her front porch enjoying the breeze and realizes how much she is going to miss this home. She knows she has made the right decision to downsize and move closer to family as she nears retirement, but the new house will not be nearly as perfect as this one has been. The day she found it, she knew she was home. The large corner lot, welcoming front porch, pavered driveway, and stunning stone and stucco exterior were what first attracted her. She also loved the location of this small, 31 home neighborhood, so close to her favorite stores and restaurants in the heart of Mandarin. Her connection to the neighborhood increased with each family that moved in and her grandkids have always enjoyed playing kickball in the cul-de-sac with their friends while she watched from her porch.Carol has always loved the open floor plan and high, 9.5' ceilings of this home. She will always cherish her memories of cooking dinner for the family in the open kitchen while chatting with her daughter and son-in-law, seated at the breakfast bar. The grandkids typically joined in the conversation from the family room room while watching their favorite shows on TV. They usually took dinner out to the screened lanai where they could watch the dogs romp in the fenced back yard while they ate. It took a while to make this house into the beautiful home it is today. The kitchen was perfect, with its walk-in pantry, Corian counters, gleaming stainless steel appliances, and 42" maple cabinets. Over the years she has added hardwood floors to the living and dining rooms, along with 5-inch baseboards and crown moulding, which she decided to extend into the kitchen and family room as well. She especially loves the durability and beauty of the wood-like vinyl floor she added to the Master bedroom and its sitting room. In fact, she has decided to use the same material in the new home she is building, in spite of the fact that it costs more than a lot of the tile and hardwood she considered. Well, she realizes, it's time to go back to work. She meanders back to the sitting room off her master bedroom which she has always used as her home office and lets the dogs out the door to the lanai that is conveniently located right next to her desk. Yes, she's truly going to miss this home and all of the love she has shared here!
